PROTECTING NEW ZEALAND'S ENVIRONMENT Help protect New Zealand's environment through diverse projects.
Protecting New Zealand's Environment program allows you to help protect, preserve and restore this unique and beautiful environment. This program offers volunteers ages 18-70 to work in many different conservation projects. These projects are diverse and include activities such as tree planting, seed collection, endangered species protection, walking trail construction, heritage restoration and environmental monitoring.
The program includes all meals and accommodation as well as all project related travel. Your project will be determined by what the current needs are and what time of year it is. Each project lasts about one to one and a half weeks and then you will be moved to another site. This means that during a six-week experience you will probably visit at least three different project locations. As much variety is incorporated in this program as possible.
You should be reasonably fit and prepared to take part to the best of your ability. You will be shown how to use all tools and equipment safely before you start each project, and there will always be a Team Leader there to help you. If you have a love of the outdoors and an interest in protecting the environment, than this program is for you!Volunteer Activities may include: - Working in a team to help protect, preserve and restore the unique and beautiful New Zealand environment.
