LIVE WITH A COSTA RICAN FAMILY AND TEACH THEM ENGLISH 15 HOURS EACH WEEK.

GeoVisions' Conversation Corps in Costa Rica provides English conversationalists a chance to live with a Costa Rican family and teach them English.  Because of the close proximity of the "students" this will be an amazing adventure of living in your teaching environment.  This is a high-energy position.  The parents have been working all day and the children have been in school but you still need to come up with fun and enthusiastic ways to teach them English.  We provide the materials; you provide the personality to liven up a family class or dinner conversation!

This is also a great program for people who want to experience life in Costa Rica and the Costa Rican culture in-depth.  The program has a focus on cultural exchange and host families are not only excited to learn English but also love to share the characteristics of their amazing country, culture and cuisine.

Conversation Corps volunteers receive instruction on how to teach English to a family, with specific activities for teaching English in a home to a family.  GeoVisions includes a 2-day orientation in San Jose.  Accommodation during orientation is typically at a student hostel.  Transportation to the host family is also included.

Costa Rica is a land of amazing diversity comprised of humid tropical forest, dense rain forest and majestic volcanoes whose width can span up to one kilometer.  It is also home to some of the most beautiful and welcoming beaches of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.  Costa Rica is home to 6% of the world’s biodiversity and 25% of the tiny country is designated for conservation and protection.

Along with all of these natural wonders, you will find some of the most welcoming people on Earth.  They will charm you with their warm willingness to share with you their customs and culture, all of this in a peaceful and stable environment.

Participants will instruct their host families in English, and must be native speakers.  They need to have earned a high school (secondary school) diploma or certificate, be in good health and abide by the family’s rules and habits. Placements are available year 'round and range in duration from one to three months. Participants must devote up to 15 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, for lessons and conversation.
