COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION IN RAJASTHAN
Help villages improve their facilities by doing light construction and cleaning up parks and playgrounds.
This short-term program is to offer an authentic, cultural and meaningful experience to people with limited time. The work deals with community development and social development.
The State of Rajasthan in the northwest of India is often called the most colorful desert in the world. Known for its rich heritage, colorful folk culture and festivals, Rajasthan is the number one attraction for visitors from all over the world. Special experiences like Camel safaris, Tiger safaris, excursions to visit famous forts and palaces offer some of the most distinct experiences to our volunteers coming to this part of India.
The volunteer work is dependent on the specific needs of the individual village, but general community development projects include: repairing and beautification of day care centers, village primary schools, and village community facilities, repairing houses of Below Poverty Line families, creating teams of village children to clean village areas, etc. Some of this work is done in conjunction with the villagers.
Weekend excursions include a 2-day, 1 night trip to Ranthambore National Tiger Reserve including 2 Tiger safaris and a 2-day, 1 night trip to the Hindu religious town of Pushkar with a camel ride in the desert surroundings. There are also morning yoga sessions for 1 week.
