Program Overview:

Get paid to interview Chinese college students headed to the U.S. on a J-1 Work and Travel visa as well as high school exchange program students!  Positions are available in Beijing.  The students need to be interviewed about life in the U.S. and for their English language ability before coming to the U.S. to begin their summer work and travel jobs.

We need an intern in Beijing for 3 months at a time.  This is a great program for people who want to experience life in China and the Chinese culture in-depth.  Discover first-hand what it is like to live and work in China!

You will usually have a homestay accommodations and the office will provide lunch during the week.  You will be responsible for your other food and living expenses.

Placement requires a Skype interview with the office manager in China.

Duties and Responsibilities Include

  • Work in the office in Beijing helping office staff with their English and performing clerical duties.
  • Interview Chinese college students interested in the US Work & Travel program.
  • Contact students and offer them assistance (this can be done in English).
  • Conduct verbal English tests for each student.
  • Provide assistance to students when needed.
  • Assist staff with students and with office work.
  • Travel if needed to other areas of China to recruit and interview college students who are coming to the U.S. on the J-1 Visa Work and Travel program. Interviews are for language ability and suitability of the program.  Please note that no additional travel is promised. It all depends on enrollments.
  • Manage your own personal expenses (telephone bills, clothing, entertainment, transportation and spending money.)
  • Be available to work some evenings and weekends, if needed.Your in-country orientation by office staff.

  • Insurance:Extensive medical, accident and dental insurance along with emergency evacuation. Policy also includes baggage loss and travel delay coverage.
  • Airport Transfers:You will be picked up at the airport by a staff member from the office in China.
  • Local Transportation:Not Included. Public transportation is used to get to and from the office. Usually homestays are approximately 30 minutes away by bus or subway.
  • Room:Accommodations are provided normally with a homestay family. If you tutor the family 1 hour per week in conversational English, dinner will be provided each night.
  • Meals:Lunch while at the office is provided. Dinner provided free if you teach the family conversational English for 1 hour each week.
Interview Chinese college students who are coming to the US on the J1 Work and Travel visa. The Work and Travel program in the US allows college students from other countries to travel to the US, work legally during their summer break, and then travel for a month before returning to their home country.

You can be part of the process! The students need to be interviewed about what it is like to live and work in the US and also for their English language ability and skills. Interns will also help promote the program as well help with daily office work.
