This program operates all year-'round. Your actual start date will be worked out in advance with your host family.
How long can I stay?
The minimum length that you can stay is 12 months. The maximum length is five years or when you turn 27 ... whichever comes first.
How Much Will I Make?
Earn between £593.78 ($832 USD) to £836.58 ($1,184) per month plus a private bedroom, all meals, and health insurance.
How Many Hours A Week Will I Work?
You will work between 25.5 and 35 hours a week. But, anything over 25.5 hours, you'll be paid £6.07 ($8.55 USD) per hour additional.
What If I'm Not A Native English Speaker?
If you're not a native English speaker, simply take a government-approved English proficiency test and receive a minimum CEFR score of B1.
Do You Qualify For This Unique Opportunity?
Can you be available for a family in the UK (Northern Ireland, England, Wales, or Scotland) for a minimum of one year? This is the least amount of time you can stay, and depending on your age, you can stay as long as five years.
If you are not a native English speaker, you will need to take an English exam. The minimum level of English proficiency is B1 on the CEFR scale. This is a governmental requirement to receive a visa. Please be advised there is a UK Government approved list of English Proficiency Exams and they could cost anywhere from £100 and £200. If you are a native English speaker, you do not need to take the exam.
Do you have £624 ($890 USD) to pay the Embassy when you get your visa? This is the amount the UK Government requires you to pay for a year of National Health Insurance. It must be paid for in advance of receiving your visa. You will receive 50% of this back six months into the program and the other 50% at the end of the program. This is a UK Government requirement and cannot be waived.
To obtain the Skilled Workers Visa, you must be between the ages of 18 and 26. You can be 26 when you apply. Once you reach 27, you will have to transition out of the program.
Can you provide 2 childcare references and 1 character reference?
The UK Government will require you to pay a Biometric enrollment (fingerprinting, etc.) of £19.20 (27 USD). This fee is not reimbursed.
Will your Criminal Background Check be clear when we run it? And, will you be able to provide a medical history?

The Skilled Workers Visa
Spend a year working legally in the UK with the ability to renew your visa for up to five years. With GeoVisions Foundation, you will not have to pay for the Certificate of Sponsorship, the Visa Immigration Charge, and the Visa Application fee. That's a total of £1,173 ($1,658 USD) you don't have to pay for your visa.
Visa regulations require you to pay £624 ($882 USD) for your National Health insurance at the time of your visa application. We will refund to you this fee 50% at six months and the other 50% when the program ends. That means you will be reimbursed 100% for your health insurance, which covers all of your health care visits and one eye exam annually.
Non-Native English Speakers Are Welcome
Non-native English speakers with a B1 or better CEFR score on a government-approved English Proficiency Test can qualify, from any country. Just take the approved test (there may be a cost to you) and provide your official score report with B1 or better. A great opportunity to learn and perfect your English.
Letter Of Support Maintenance
UK Immigration requires that everyone applying for the Skilled Workers visa must have at least £1,270 ($1,795 USD) in their bank account to show they can support themselves in the UK. They need to have had the money available for at least 28 days in a row prior to applying for the visa. The GeoVisions Foundation will provide you a "letter of support maintenance." You will be exempt from this requirement with that letter.
