Overview

The Cultural Exchange Project (formerly The GeoVisions Foundation) offers a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the French language, culture, and cuisine for 1, 2, or 3 months. Experience life as a local with a carefully selected host family and truly become a part of the community. You'll have the chance to tutor the family in conversational English for up to 15 hours a week, while also having plenty of free time to explore your new surroundings and meet the locals.

Fee

The cost for the program is a flat fee of $1,299 for 1, 2, or 3 months. You will only need to pay a $350 deposit initially. $500 is due after we receive your full application in France. The remaining amount of $449 is due after you have approved your host family.

Responsibilities

• Please ensure that you arrive on time for all of your tutoring sessions with your host family.
• It is important that you dedicate up to 15 hours each week to tutoring your host family in conversational English.
• Additionally, please keep your private bedroom tidy and be considerate of your host family by not staying out late without their permission.
• To make your lessons interesting and enjoyable, we provide our own A Tutor's Guide that you can use to plan engaging activities based on the plan you and your host family have set up.

Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

• Host families in France expect tutors to fall in the age range of 18-30. Older participants will require more flexibility in terms of timing and placement, as some host families may have a preference for younger tutors. If you're over 30, we'll place you. But you must be extremely flexible on your travel dates.

• Host families prefer native English speakers.

• A high school diploma is required.

Included

• We will personally match you with a carefully screened host family, ensuring a personalized placement. Think of it as finding a home away from home in France.

• We provide you with tutor resources to make your teaching experience easier and more effective.

• You'll be provided with delicious meals every day, except for when you're not at the host home.

• Our local support team in France is available 24/7 to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

• We will provide you with pre-departure materials to help you prepare for your amazing cultural exchange adventure.

• Through your host family, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the French language and truly experience the culture.

Not Included

• Airfare to and from France.
• Meals when you're away from the host family and traveling on your own.
• Spending money for personal expenses.
